I bought one of these as I saw some ads for it and I had water stain problems in the toilet bowl.I could start to see and immediate change as the acid/bleach starting eating through the stains and then they were all gone, and stayed gone until a refill was needed and then I noticed the stains coming back. Despite what others have said, I have never seen a toilet it wouldn't work in as they are almost all made the same. The toilets are made to run some water from around the rim to rinse the sides. Perhaps the holes the water is supposed to come through are clogged so you don't get an even distribution of the bleach around the bowl. I just bought my first refill. When I looked at the tablets they have you refill with, they looked just like the bromide tablets in my hot tub. Rather than spending $6 for two refills (two tablets... It was easy to install as advertised. However, the bleach smell was immediately obvious, and remained the entire time it was in use. But the worse part, was that it has left these ugly brown streaks in the toilet bowl where the water enters to refill the bowl. I have tried all sorts of things to remove these stains, including straight chlorine bleach sprayed onto the stains. NOTHING has removed these stains.
