We have hard water deposits in our area. I have to scrub the toilet daily. Even then, it is difficult to keep the deposits from building up. The Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Toilet Cleaner helps reduce the amount of scrubbing needed. I can actually go a few days without having to worry about deposits.

However, it still isn't worth the money for these reasons:

1. It isn't eco-friendly. You have to get refills. Our recycling company won't take the discarded packs.

2. It costs too much and you have to keep buying refills. Add up the money you're spending and you can find a more economical way to keep the toilet clean. However, if it was very inexpensive I would consider using this regularly.

3. Noise and some malfunctions. Although it is not supposed to come on when someone is sitting on the toilet, we had our share of surprises (although rare). If you have to use the bathroom in the middle of the night and have a light sleeper, this is a... Read more

I really wanted to like this stuff. After all, who wouldn't love to have to scrub their toilet less? But here's what I found:

Prior to getting this, I wasn't using any toilet cleaning products so I believe it was a fair test of the product. I clean my toilets with a brush on an "as needed" basis. This means that when the bowl gets visible deposits, especially immediately after flushing, I take the brush and give it a good scrub. Without using any cleaning products, I had to do this approximately every 5-7 days (other than spot cleaning). My hope for the Scrubbing Bubbles product was that it would take care of most stuff and I would only have to scrub the bowl occasionally.

First, installation. I was surprised when I opened the box to find there were so many parts to put together. However I carefully read the instructions, and got it put together correctly. Next I had to install it on the toilet. This was NOT difficult. However to date I have never... Read more

When I saw this product available on the Vine program, I thought I would try it out. If there is a product that can lessen the time spent cleaning the bathroom, why not try it out? Well, it has been almost a month and my findings are as follows:

Good:

1. Set up was fairly easy. There are quite a few parts, but if one reads through the instructions, this product is simple enough to put together. It allows for the product to sit on the floor next to toilet, or to hang from the tank - I elected to hang it from the tank.

2. The toilet bowl has remained cleaned during the time I have had the product installed. I generally like the product line of Scrubbing Bubbles, and this did not disappoint in this regard. I'm not exactly sure HOW it works, but it does seem to.

3. There is a blinking light on the exterior of the unit that hangs (sits on the floor) to indicate the unit is working. This helps to let you know the batteries are still... Read more

Yes it cleans well, and yes it has a powerful smell. That said, I like these. I have been using them for about a year now. Let's consider when you might like them, too.

1. It cleans really well. It cleans from the water level in your bowl downwards. If your pipes deposit a bit of rust (or something) just under the rim of your toilet bowl, you'll need another cleaner or scrubber to get at that. These only clean where the water swirls around on its way down.

That said, if you keep a toilet brush in your bath, you can just dip that brush in the bowl and scrub away under the rim. The "scrubbing bubbles" soap is already mixed into your toilet water, so you don't have to spray around the rim. Just grab a brush and go at it.

2. It has a strong smell. Yes it does. After applying a bit to the toilet bowl, it smells quite strongly. The smell become less powerful after 24-48 hours. Not to be too icky, but my bathrooms have poor ventilation. I prefer the the smell... Read more

Dont kno about you, but I dont have time to make sure the toilet bowl is clean and fresh. People are in and out of my bathroom constantly, so I needed constant help. These gels gave me just that! The bathroom ALWAYS smells good, even when I neglect it, and NO ONE has complained about the scent. (Lots better than what it COULD be!) So I dont kno where the other 2 reviewers are coming from. A great product! Recommended!

We have three (not too careful) guys in our home, so a product like this is very handy. You stick a gel inside the toilet bowl and forget it. The scent refreshes the whole bathroom - even masking urine - and you never have to worry about a guest walking into the odor of the PREVIOUS guest because the guest bath ALWAYS smells fresh! If the scent is too much for you, place the gel inside the TANK at the water level (instead of in the bowl.) It doesn't last quite as long, but the scent is muted, and it still keeps the bowl clean! Give these a try for yourself, and see!
