They call me mom. I'm the mother of 2 who think that anything that can float would be fun to flush. But this particular clog was truly the mother lode.

The guest bathroom toilet. You know that guest bathroom toilet clogs are the worst-because these clogs are not even your own. So there I was, face to face with a murky mess emitting a stench that would make a garbage hauler gag. I watched the swirling vortex creep up the side of the bowl with each prayerful flush.

And this was no ordinary, anemic water saving toilet, this was an air pressure toilet. When you flush this toilet it sounds like a 747 on takeoff and can blast a tennis ball from the bowl through the pipes clear out to the street side curb. It is so strong I believe there is even a momentary vacuum of the atmosphere when this toilet goes off. This was an uncloggable toilet, until now. This was going to be bad.

Plunger (2 types) worthless, just stirred it up enough to bring on the aroma with... Read more

I gave the CO2 powered Kleer Drain a try because I was tired of buying liquid drain cleaner 2-3 times a month. So far I've cleared clogs in a bathtub drain, kitchen drain and a toilet and it worked great using only one CO2 cartridge per job.

Outside, it didn't work on my clogged pool deck drains but I think that's because it was clogged with packed dirt and roots that needed a snake to clean it out. It worked great on the suction line from my pool to the pump that was clogged with leaves and hair.

Words of advice. Put duct tape over all the overflow drains AFTER YOU CLEAN THE AREA so the tape will stick to them better. If you are trying to clear a clog in the bath tub drain and have a cover plate over the diverter (choose shower or tub faucet), put duct tape around that too or hair and black goo will get blown out between the plate and the wall and end up on everything within 6 feet, including the ceiling. Use the splash guard on every job, not just toilets... Read more

I had a bathroom sink drain that was barely draining. Tried a plunger, nothing. Baking soda and vinegar smelled good, but nothing. Zip-It, to be fair, the clog has to be within reach; this one apparently wasn't, so, nothing. I thought the worst that could happen with Kleer Drain was that it would blow a hole in the pipe; that, at least, would make it worth calling a plumber. So I went to the local hardware store and took a chance on it.

On my first try, I guess the seal wasn't good enough, and nothing happened. I thought, what the heck, I've already spent the money, I'll try again. OH. MY. GOD. The drain cleared instantly. Because this sink drain is rather inconveniently located, the splash guard wasn't all that effective, and the stuff in the drain flew everywhere. (For this reason, be very cautious when using this on a toilet...) No big deal, though. Even with the cleanup (which took, maybe, 20 minutes), still much quicker and cheaper than calling a plumber. This is a... Read more
